Alpine Porsche Drive 2026
We had so much fun on the 2025 Alpine Porsche Drive that we decided to do it again – but this time we added a day to the trip. After a visit to the incredible Porsche museum in Stuttgart, we hopped into our 2026 Porsches and jumped on the Autobahn for a blast down to Austria.
The Eagle’s Nest in Berchtesgaden, Germany was our first stop on our second day of driving and the World War II bunker was almost as impressive as the view from the top of the mountain! From Berchtesgaden, we had a brief stop in Zell am See before we climbed up the Grossglockner High Alpine Road on our way to Lienz. Our drive through Austria ended when we crossed into Italy on our way to the Dolomites. The Alps are obviously full of mountains but the Dolomites may be the most imposing of them all with their almost vertical jagged spires – simply incredible!
Our drive through the Dolomites brought us to Bolzano, Italy before we continued west on our way to the incredible Stelvio Pass. The conditions on the Stelvio Pass were nothing less than ideal. The sun was out, the temperature was perfect and astonishingly, we had almost no traffic (cars, motorcycles or bicycles) on our run up to the top of the mountain. We attribute this to the time of year we did the trip, but perhaps we were just lucky. Whatever the reason, we took the opportunity to hit the Stelvio Pass with nothing holding us back. It was magnificent.
The day after our Stelvio Pass adventure was a planned easy day. From our overnight stop in Bormio, we stopped in St. Moritz, Switzerland for lunch before arriving at our hotel on Lake Como early in the afternoon giving everyone plenty of down time to spend in the pool, going for a run on the Lake Como shore or taking a well-deserved nap!
Brienz, Switzerland was our next destination after Lake Como and we made sure to tackle some great mountain passes on our way to one of the most beautiful places in the world. This year we decided to stay for two nights at the Grand Hotel Geissbach to give everyone the ability to truly experience the region. As a group we visited Lauterbrunnen Valley, drove around Lake Brienz and had dinner in the lovely village of Wengen, which is only accessible by train. In addition to that, we had plenty of time to enjoy the beauty of the Grand Hotel Geissbach.
After Brienz, we had numerous mountain passes on our schedule on our way to Zurich for our final night “on the road”. While it’s hard to beat the views from the Grand Hotel Geissbach in Brienz, our hotel in Zurich made a valiant attempt with spectacular views of the sunrise across the lake.
Our return to Stuttgart marked the end of yet another great Alpine Porsche Drive and we can’t wait to do it again!
